So what’s this talk about the opera?

Laser lights, opereratic singers, cirque de soleil-eque performances all while listening to the DJ mogul Axwell? – This is not your typical opera.  Located in the historical NY Hammerstein Ballroom, this magic-themed two night concert will mark the first chapter of the electronic event series. Axwell, the known DJ from Swedish House Mafia, is a creator and partner in the series – making it a must talked about event.   Electronic music and theatrical production will integrate into one, with never-before seen laser and lighting elements integrated with dramatic, opera-themed activations spread throughout the venue. The Audience may not realize it…but they will be part of this magical experience.

What are you wearing?

With an epical event such as this, wardrobe decisions will not be taken lightly – but don’t worry we’ve got your back.  This is a full on dance-oriented concert, so comfort here is key.  Neon silk, graphic tees, edgy metallics and animal influenced designs will be everywhere in this circus themed event.  Check out some of our essentials available in-store to keep you looking good through the epic dance marathon.  Don’t forget to add some cosmic to your beauty routine, as this is the night to go all out.  Fluorescent make-up and trippy nail decals are all the rave for spring (pun intended) so what better time to break out the this beauty trend.

Last week the Atrium team hit the desert for the bi-annual Project Show in the only other city that never sleeps – Las Vegas.  For any of you who have never been to a trade show before, this is the time of year where brands from all over the world gather to showcase their new product for the upcoming season – from the oh-so-popular to the up and coming. Buyers, designers and esteemed members of the media gather for a retail bender as they search for the next big thing making it essential for Atrium’s team to be front and center in all the action. In typical A-team style, we captured the best of the show to give you a chance to experience what everyone is talking about.  As you will see PROJECT brought it’s a-game this year with curated installations, impromptu fashion shows, a barber shop and much much more.

Project Wooster:

This by far was my favorite part of Project.  Curated by Nick Wooster, this area was dedicated to his personal exploration of how brands interpret the evolution of fashion and its historical influences that ultimately shape collections.  With most brands coming from Tokyo, the area was filled with camouflage, recovered war paraphernalia and vintage accessories – check out the camo couches!

Project Love: 

This curated area is dedicated for the brands that have been the most successful in using the fashion platform to support different global causes.  Check out the brands: This Shirt Helps, The IOU Project, Krochet Kids, TOMS, Falling Whistles and GN Therapy.

The Blogger Project curated by Marcus Troy:

Color, color, color! As I was walking down Bleecker, I made a quick turn and noticed a fashionista in such fabulous bright platform heels. I love her vintage late 1960s inspired getup. Julie is super stylish and has a passion for fashion as you can tell!
