Atrium NYC interviews Up and Coming artist O’Billi. Your Favorite Company brings you the Sneak Peek of O’Billi’s Demo….
Where do you live?
Hollis, NY
Who inspires you as an artist?
Wow, good question. Well first and foremost my mom because of the hard times I’ve seen her endure, my lady (girlfriend) because she’s so witty and the change I’ve seen her make since we’ve started dating, my dad who has played a very influential part in my life and last but not least Kanye west because I see the passion that he has to make things happen and also for his music.
What made you start becoming a musician/what was your inspiration/what was your drive?
Well I come from a very musical family, my mom was a gospel singer my dad sings as well, my little brother plays the drums and my sister sings, lol so being surrounded by that I just knew that gift could not have just skipped over me” lol, so I picked up a pen at the age of 14 and just began to write my feelings on paper then putting to music I would hear on the radio. Watching MTV and BET on Saturday mornings when I was growing up was like getting my favorite toy or video game for Christmas. I was so intrigued by an artist lifestyle and how they dressed or how they put words together in song that I felt like one day im gonna be there and my family and friends will never have to want for anything anymore, that really gave me my drive as an artist.
How does fashion intertwine into music for you?
For me fashion and music go hand and hand. I express myself through fashion as I do with my music. Growing up when you said you were a rapper or that you did anything in music automatically they looked at your clothes and how you put it together. Also for me I always mention different brands in my music. So fashion has always played a huge part in music.

Favorite Brands?
RRL , Prps, Natural Selection, Rockstar Sushi, Balmain, Margiela, Lanvin, Goyard
What’s your favorite thing this season?
Rockstar sushi cargo pants, they define my style, because they are so versatile, they can be worn with boots, sneakers, shoes, a dress shirt and even a nice blazer. There is no category to put them in, it defines me as an artist.
What is one item in your closet that you couldn’t live without?
I have a Adriano Goldschmied leather motorcycle jacket that I wear almost everyday, its a must have. When I make it big im gonna auction it off for charity at Sotherby’s lol.
What do you feel Atrium has done for New York City/what makes Atrium different than other retailers to you?
Atrium is always on top of setting trends and building new brands. They put a lot of effort into finding new talent and offering merchandise to a consumer that they can’t find anywhere else and they’re also known for exclusives.
Where you perform/how often/when your next performance is?
I’ve performed in Atlanta at the soulshack music festival, the bower poetry club and also at Nexxus lounge.
My next performance is TBA.
